No Fireplace for Santa, No problem!

After moving into a new home and no longer having a fireplace, Christmas decor just didn't feel the same! So with a cardboard box, craft paper, a black poster board and some imagination this is what we came up with!

We don't have the stocking up yet, because I'm still in the process of making them. The kids and I made some cute framed hand and foot print art for on the "mantle"

Here is how we did it...

First we made the "fire" with red, orange and yellow craft paper. Then added the logs made with painted TP roll's cut in half and hot glued it onto a black poster board. Pretty simple.

I cut up a cardboard box to make the shape of the fireplace and painted the bricks on with a large sponge paintbrush and brick colored paint.

The mantle was made with the left over cardboard wrapped in white butcher paper. We then added black paper the frame it and give it a more finished look! Super easy and fun to make!! Now I just need to get the stockings made.
